Matthew 15,29-37

Mateo 15, 29-37

Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Matthew 15,29-37

At that time: Jesus walked by the Sea of Galilee, went up on the mountain, and sat down there.
Great crowds came to him, having with them the lame, the blind, the deformed, the mute, and many others. They placed them at his feet, and he cured them.
The crowds were amazed when they saw the mute speaking, the deformed made whole, the lame walking, and the blind able to see, and they glorified the God of Israel.
Jesus summoned his disciples and said, “My heart is moved with pity for the crowd, for they have been with me now for three days and have nothing to eat. I do not want to send them away hungry, for fear they may collapse on the way.”
The disciples said to him, “Where could we ever get enough bread in this deserted place to satisfy such a crowd?”
Jesus said to them, “How many loaves do you have?” “Seven,” they replied, “and a few fish.”
He ordered the crowd to sit down on the ground.
Then he took the seven loaves and the fish, gave thanks, broke the loaves, and gave them to the disciples, who in turn gave them to the crowds.
They all ate and were satisfied. They picked up the fragments left over–seven baskets full.

Jesus sat down

1) They brought him: Jesus receives people in need, deprived of things. How nice would it be for you to bring Jesus the worries that makes you feel deprive and in need. How nice to know that you can talk to Jesus face to face while he sits down to listen and heal you. Do you sit with Him and take time to sit down and talk and tell Him of all your needs ….I can imagine Jesus sitting down waiting for you while you are running around, doing this or that…and Jesus there, waiting for you.

2) Sorrow: Jesus shows compassion to others, this is the attitude that you and me must have before our brothers … we cannot be so insensitive in life. It seems that we are becoming like robots. Time passes, as we get older, we become insensitive, hard like stones, it even seems that you are treating your relatives as employees. Today become more sensible and start worrying of the people next to you.

3) There are plenty of things: when you give from your heart, there is always plenty and there’s even leftovers. In life you must give without measure. Miracles are seen when people act with generosity …. let’s thank God today for all of those solidare and generous people. How many things the Church did and can do thanks to your generosity. Today do a miracle to someone, be generous.

God bless you in the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
