Mark 3,1-6

by Fr. Luis A. Zazano

Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Mark 3,1-6.

Jesus entered the synagogue. There was a man there who had a withered hand.
They watched him closely to see if he would cure him on the sabbath so that they might accuse him.
He said to the man with the withered hand, “Come up here before us.”
Then he said to them, “Is it lawful to do good on the sabbath rather than to do evil, to save life rather than to destroy it?” But they remained silent.
Looking around at them with anger and grieved at their hardness of heart, he said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” He stretched it out and his hand was restored.
The Pharisees went out and immediately took counsel with the Herodians against him to put him to death.

  1. The paralysis, this term in psychology refers to the person who feel useless or a weigh or annoyance of others. It is a sensation where the person does not enjoy his being. Maybe today you feel overwhelmed with the sickness that you suffer or you feel paralyzed because illness consumes you. This type of person depends on others and cannot think for himself. They are always waiting for what others think to do because they are afraid.
  2. A hardened heart, society also shows hardship, we are very individualist and everyone takes care of their part only, we usually do not look out for others outside.  In a religious sense, we might falter as well in what is legal and what is not, or what can be or is not and we do not see the suffering of others or how they are.  You use others as mere objects and you judge them by their acts. You do not see others with love.
  3. Healing:  Today Jesus comes to heal you. Present this paralysis you have and show God how you feel limited. Show Jesus what aspects do not let you lead your life and help others. Let Jesus help you to see how you can lead your life and heal.

May God bless you and the name of the Father and of the son and of the holy spirit
