Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Mark 3,22-30.
The scribes who had come from Jerusalem said of Jesus, “He is possessed by Beelzebul,” and “By the prince of demons he drives out demons.”
Summoning them, he began to speak to them in parables, “How can Satan drive out Satan?
If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.
And if a house is divided against itself, that house will not be able to stand.
And if Satan has risen up against himself and is divided, he cannot stand; that is the end of him.
But no one can enter a strong man’s house to plunder his property unless he first ties up the strong man. Then he can plunder his house.
Amen, I say to you, all sins and all blasphemies that people utter will be forgiven them.
But whoever blasphemes against the holy Spirit will never have forgiveness, but is guilty of an everlasting sin.”
For they had said, “He has an unclean spirit.”
The Spirit is strong.
1) the devil: he is the absence of God and he divides us. Today you have to fight with your heart because the devil tempts us. He causes division. Today, there are a lot of people in living in the absence of God … they ignore Him. Also, there are people who cause division even when they are involved in the things of God. Are you a source of division among your own people? Are there words of love or poison coming from your mouth?
2) subsist: in life we are invited to help each other because life itself is difficult and there are things that hurt us and wear us down. That is why we talk about the church as a family. A family group in which we accompany one another. How nice it is when we see the parish group members accompany and help each other! There are great Catholic movements that promote fraternity. Today we are called to grow in fraternity…no one can be saved alone. The strength of Christianity is to live in a community… “Where two or more are gathered in my name, I am there.”
3) the Spirit: Jesus reminds us of the respect we owe the Holy Spirit and that we cannot laugh at How he works or in Whom he works. You should realize that the Holy Spirit is in control. Be strong and trust that the Spirit guides all of us.
