Matthew 5,33-37

Matthew 5,33-37

Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Matthew 5,33-37

Jesus said to his disciples: “You have heard that it was said to your ancestors, ‘Do not take a false oath, but make good to the Lord all that you vow.’
But I say to you, do not swear at all; not by heaven, for it is God’s throne;
nor by the earth, for it is his footstool; nor by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King.
Do not swear by your head, for you cannot make a single hair white or black.
Let your ‘Yes’ mean ‘Yes,’ and your ‘No’ mean ‘No.’ Anything more is from the evil one.”

Don’t swear, Act !!

1)The truth: Living in truth is living in freedom, because the truth makes the framework for your life. You should not say things just to get along with people. Be honest with yourself and others; speak the truth. If you live to please others and say things for your own convenience, you are living a “duality” . If you do this, you will end up without an identity, confused, and without transparency in your life. Live your truth, and accept your mistakes.

2)The lie: A lie divides. Lies hurt you and bring hard consequences to your life. You might say that your lies are little white lies, but they will be like the bugs on a car’s windshield; little by little they will get you dirty. Don’t let the lie, lie to you and …don’t lie to yourself with lies.

3)The witness: There is only one witness in your life, and it is God. Do not be afraid to ask Him for help. He is a kind and just Judge. What drives your life is not a constant punishing list point of “do’s and don’ts” … it is to live in freedom knowing that you are a child of God.

God bless you In the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Remember, heaven is our goal !
