Matthew 10,1-7

Matthew 10, 1-7

Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Matthew 10,1-7

Jesus summoned his Twelve disciples and gave them authority over unclean spirits to drive them out and to cure every disease and every illness.
The names of the twelve apostles are these: first, Simon called Peter, and his brother Andrew; James, the son of Zebedee, and his brother John;
Philip and Bartholomew, Thomas and Matthew the tax collector; James, the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddeus;
Simon the Cananean, and Judas Iscariot who betrayed him.
Jesus sent out these twelve after instructing them thus, “Do not go into pagan territory or enter a Samaritan town.
Go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
As you go, make this proclamation: ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.'”

God chooses

God chooses.

1) He gave them authority: As you go along in life, in the presence of God, you have authority. But, you have to understand that authority does not mean being bossy. Authority means that your words have strength as a result of your life’s example. In other words, what you say has power because YOU are the one saying it… because YOU have set an example with your life. But this is where it gets a bit tricky. This is why Jesus gives Christians the grace to be able to keep their promises… which is big part of our service to others. You, as a child of God, have to fight every single day to be a good person and not complicate anyone’s life.

Give your best every day and fight to overcome your shortcomings. This is having authority.

2) Their names: In the gospel we are given the names of those whom He chose, because God calls in a personal way… it is His unique way. That is why we Christians are not members of a club. We have been called; we are convinced believers. Are you convinced God has called you for a reason? What for? I don’t have the answer, you have it. Look for the answer inside yourself.

3) Derailed: Jesus commands theym to go and proclaim to the Israelites… to the supposedly religious people.

Jesus commands them to re-evangelize. Today, you and I have to take Jesus to those who already made their first communion but still do not know Him; we have to go to those who were Confirmed in their Faith, but did not experience that encounter with Christ. We must reach out to those who received the Sacrament of Marriage, but were more concerned about the party because they did not understand clearly what this sacrament meant. We must bring Jesus to those who received the Sacrament of Holy Orders but have been taken over by lukewarmness and sadness.

Today, you and I have to HAVE JESUS to be able to GIVE JESUS.

God bless you and may He go with you,
in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
Heaven is our goal.

Your contribution help us to continue with our mission
God Bless You!
