Matthew 9,1-8

by Fr. Luis A. Zazano
Matthew 9,1-8

Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Matthew 9,1-8

After entering a boat, Jesus made the crossing, and came into his own town.
And there people brought to him a paralytic lying on a stretcher. When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, “Courage, child, your sins are forgiven.”
At that, some of the scribes said to themselves, “This man is blaspheming.”
Jesus knew what they were thinking, and said, “Why do you harbor evil thoughts?
Which is easier, to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Rise and walk’?
But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins” –he then said to the paralytic, “Rise, pick up your stretcher, and go home.”
He rose and went home.
When the crowds saw this they were struck with awe and glorified God who had given such authority to human beings.

Get up

1) They took Him: All Christians have the duty to take people who are stuck in their lives, to the encounter with Jesus. They are people who do not advance and do not walk but need a wakeup call to move. It is our job to accompany and lead them to Jesus. He will heal them, only He is able to do this. Do not mistake. There is only one Savior, Jesus. For this to happen it is necessary to have a close relationship, one on one.

2) Cheer up, son: When Jesus heals, He injects us with happiness and hope. When we are sick, we have no hope or happiness in our lives, and they can spread negativity to others. Look for Jesus through prayer to continue for the search of happiness. Do not stay lamenting the problems or the people that caused the problems, rather look for the best solution. The learning process is also important because it leaves a teaching for your life.

3) What you think: Jesus know what people think of Him, but he did not care since He was on earth to accomplish His mission. The Holy Father gave Jesus an objective and He was clear on who He is. You must clarify others in this aspect. Everything you do in life is to accomplish good, even though you will be criticized. Turn yourself around and look at what your vocation is. Your choice and who you are, these are vital aspects in the road of life. This is your strength and you must work to keep it.
God bless you In the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Remember, heaven is our goal !

Your contribution help us to continue with our mission
God Bless You!
