John 3, 13 – 17

Jesus in the cross

Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint John 3,13-17

Jesus said to Nicodemus : “No one has gone up to heaven except the one who has come down from heaven, the Son of Man.
And just as Moses lifted up the serpent in the desert, so must the Son of Man be lifted up,
so that everyone who believes in him may have eternal life.”
For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life.
For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through him.

The cross, the glory

1) The cross = life: The cross is life, because life brings its own problems and complications. However, more than anything, it is because you make life difficult for yourself, or because you create problems for yourself. God will never give you a cross that you cannot carry. Think about and analyze your true cross in life, but do not generate crosses that are not real, and do not invent crosses that do not exist. When you realize this, you will know what your cross truly is, and you will discover your true path.

2) The cross = path: Our life is not a cross! Our life is a path through the cross that leads to resurrection. You are called to walk on your path in life, and life is dynamic, not static. It is not always the same. Everything changes and time has a lot to do with it; do not think that your life is a cross! Difficult moments pass by and leave life lessons and learned experiences. The cross is a path to life and it is up to you to choose to enjoy life or to stay crying by the cross.

3) The cross = love: The cross is love, and love is a sacrifice, and this means doing something sacred. He who loves, sacrifices himself and dies to many things for love. Because true love is the one that is capable of dying to its own ego , it is possible to stop being “me” in order to become a “we.” Like the love of a father for his son, or the love between a husband and his wife, or the grandma’s love for her grandchildren, or the love of a man who loves a woman and feels that this love changed his life completely. The key is: Die to live. Ask yourself: “Did I die to something for those who are the loves of my life? “

I hope you can think about that.

God bless you in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Remember, heaven is our goal !
