Luke 11,29-32

Luke 11 29-32

Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Luke 11,29-32

While still more people gathered in the crowd, Jesus said to them, “This generation is an evil generation; it seeks a sign, but no sign will be given it, except the sign of Jonah.
Just as Jonah became a sign to the Ninevites, so will the Son of Man be to this generation.
At the judgment the queen of the south will rise with the men of this generation and she will condemn them, because she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon, and there is something greater than Solomon here.
At the judgment the men of Nineveh will arise with this generation and condemn it, because at the preaching of Jonah they repented, and there is something greater than Jonah here.”

It is clear that we are all called to conversion

1) CHANGE: We have to change. There are things that cannot continue the way they are in your life. What most complicates your life is that you become complacent; a lukewarm person, where you do not seek to improve yourself. A lukewarm person is indifferent and doesn’t want to make an effort to change his ways. “It’s hard”, but sooner or later those aspects of your life that you need to change will hit you hard; the truth will come out. The serious thing is when you cover yourself with lies, you won’t see who you truly are anymore.

2) LOOK: Right now, look at the signs that God puts in your life; signs, like people and situations that highlight things that you have to change: attitudes, habits, etc. At the same time, they are the signs that lead you to examine yourself…
They are those “living examinations of conscience”. You cannot “kick the can down the road” and do it later, you have to assume responsibility and address the issues now. You don’t have to change everything about yourself, but pinpoint a few , concrete issues and work on those.

3) EVERYDAY: Change is day by day and the struggle is constant; conversion is a daily journey. I would even dare to tell you that it is minute by minute sometimes. But the key is to face it; like in a boxing match: it is not the first one who strikes that wins, but rather, the one who resists and knows when to strike and where to strike that triumphs. Do not look at the blows you have received, but discover exactly where to hit so that you win the round… this most beautiful round of holiness. Do you want to be holy? Go for it !
You are not alone in this fight.

God-bless you in the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit… remember heaven is our goal !
