Mark 3,13-19

Mark 3 13-19

Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Mark 3,13-19

Jesus went up the mountain and summoned those whom he wanted  and they came to him.
He appointed twelve (whom he also named apostles) that they might be with him and he might send them forth to preach
and to have authority to drive out demons:
(he appointed the twelve:) Simon, whom he named Peter;
James, son of Zebedee, and John the brother of James, whom he named Boanerges, that is, sons of thunder;
Andrew, Philip, Bartholomew, Matthew, Thomas, James the son of Alphaeus; Thaddeus, Simon the Cananean,
and Judas Iscariot who betrayed him.

He called upon only the ones He wanted

1) He climbed the mountain:  Jesus, before deciding anything, consults God and goes to His encounter. Today, I address you with the fact that with this new year beginning, you must make important decisions. You cannot continue the way you’ve been, and a change must come. Do not lie to yourself by affirming that everything is well, and nothing needs to be changed. There are always improvements to be made. Therefore, before making any changes, do as Jesus did: consult God and fulfill His will. It is important to talk to God and entrust everything in your life to Him.

2) Be with Him and preach: this is what it means to be a disciple of Jesus, be with Him and preach. Pay attention since the order of things is extremely important. The first thing to accomplish is to BE with Jesus and announce it with the example of your life. We fill our life with activity, we are people of action, but we forget to be with Jesus. This is the most important factor we must take care of. How great is it to have chapels of perpetual adoration! Imagine the work monasteries do in this aspect as well. I spend time with Jesus in the Siambon monastery. The ability to pray silently and without hurry is necessary. Enjoy the mass with no rush. Contemplate God and allow the feeling that time does not go by when you are with Him. The most important aspect is being with Him. Please look for that special place for your encounter with Him …and then preach.

3) In the name of: Jesus grants you an identity and marks your life forever. You are someone, not something. It is important to pay attention to details in our relationships with others. It is important to call people by their names; think of your employees or your friends from work. It is important to know their names; to ask how they are; to greet them on their birthday, and so on. Details make a difference. Today, think about a special act of kindness for those around you.
God bless you in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Don’t forget, heaven is our goal !

Your contribution help us to continue with our mission
God Bless You!
