Matthew 5, 1-12 fb

Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Matthew 5,1-12.

When Jesus saw the crowds, he went up the mountain, and after he had sat down, his disciples came to him.
He began to teach them, saying:
“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are they who mourn, for they will be comforted.
Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the land.
Blessed are they who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be satisfied.
Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.
Blessed are the clean of heart, for they will see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.
Blessed are they who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are you when they insult you and persecute you and utter every kind of evil against you (falsely) because of me.
Rejoice and be glad, for your reward will be great in heaven.”

Be happy!

1) He sat down: Jesus takes the attitude of a teacher; at that time the teachers sat down to teach. Today, for you to teach in life, you have to sit down… stop rushing around and take your time to teach us. Yes, I say this to you! You can also teach others because God put something special in you that is uniquely yours, and that God gave you to serve this society. But to teach us, you have to sit down in life, and not rush around so much. Do you realize that sometimes we don’t even have time to sit down? Many times we do not make time go drink coffee and meet with a good friend, or with your son or daughter, or with your wife or husband. Start thinking that life is short and you have something to say to this world; you have to leave something behind because you are in this world for something and for some purpose. Come on, Make a change !

2) Blessed: I directly put the words of the Pope in “Christ Lives” number 162: “But I remind you that you will not be holy and full by copying others. Even imitating the saints does not mean copying their way of being and living holiness. There are testimonies that are useful to stimulate and motivate us, but not for us to try to copy them, because that could even lead us away from the unique and different path that the Lord has for us. You have to discover who you are and develop your own way of being holy, beyond what others say and think. To become holy is to become more fully yourself, to become the one God intended; to dream and create, not be a photocopy. Your life must be a prophetic stimulus, a driving force for others, leaving a mark on this world, that unique mark that only you can leave. But if you copy, you will deprive this earth, (and heaven too), of that which no one else but you can offer.”

3) Finding God in the ordinary: Today God reminds you that your sanctification happens in the ordinary: in your home, in your work, in your daily life, and in the things you need to get done everyday. It’s up to you whether every day is heaven or hell for you, so give it your all! We won’t stop until heaven!

God be with you and bless you in the name of the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit.
