Matthew 7, 15-20

Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Matthew 7, 15-20

Jesus told the crowds, “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruits. Are grapes gathered from thorns, or figs from thistles? In the same way, every good tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Thus you will know them by their fruits.”

The key is the fruits

1) Wolves disguised as sheep: Today you and I have to work on this, our life must be marked by who we are. We cannot be bipolar in life or seek to take advantage of things in life. Nor should we take advantage of who we are and portray ourselves in a way that causes damage to others. This can happen to all us, it happens in society and even within the Church, for example when we use the fame of belonging to the parish or movement to take advantage of it. This is why we need to be clear and simple. We need to work on being honest in life but overall to not take advantage of others. Keep this in mind: We cannot take advantage of others. We cannot take advantage of the innocence or good intentions of others especially when they trust me, you or anyone else.
2) The tree: You have a path to follow in order to give life and your entire life is for bearing fruit and you will bear these fruits in due time. Do not despair, be patient with yourself. A process is needed for you to bear fruits. You are clear about what you want. This clarity will allow you to give to others. When you are clear regarding what you want to give to your community or society, you will also be clear about how you will work to achieve it.
3) They will know them by their fruits: In philosophy, actions come from the being and therefore your life will be understood according to your attitudes and not your intentions. This is the struggle that you will have throughout your life, since your actions are not aligned with your intentions many times, leading to immaturity of life.
May God bless you in the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. And always remember Heaven is our goal.
