Matthew 11,20-24

Matthew 11 20-24

Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Matthew 11,20-24

Jesus began to reproach the towns where most of his mighty deeds had been done, since they had not repented.
“Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty deeds done in your midst had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would long ago have repented in sackcloth and ashes.
But I tell you, it will be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon on the day of judgment than for you.
And as for you, Capernaum: ‘Will you be exalted to heaven? You will go down to the netherworld.’ For if the mighty deeds done in your midst had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day.
But I tell you, it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom on the day of judgment than for you.”

God has already done deeds in your life

1) To rebuke: The Gospel begins like this: Admonishing the cities in which most of His miracles had been done. How much would Jesus rebuke us for the things that He has done in us and which we have not become aware of; we have not changed. How many times has He saved our lives or delivered us from danger! However, sometimes it seems that we like living on the edge.

2) Conversion: It is to change and seek to live in another way; it is to change habits and look at things differently. I know it’s difficult and hard, but everything has its time. Today, what do you have to change? If you say ‘nothing’, I think we already know where to start: pride.

3) Miracle: God does many miracles in your life and you, yourself, are one of these miracles. Do not only consider extraordinary things as miracles, rather look at the ordinary things of life and your day. Just the fact that you have health and food is a miracle. So, be grateful for the miracle of your life!
God bless you and be with you, in the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
… And don’t forget, Heaven is our goal!
