Luke 12, 35-38

by Fr. Luis A. Zazano

Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Luke 12, 35-38

‘Be dressed for action and have your lamps lit; be like those who are waiting for their master to return from the wedding banquet, so that they may open the door for him as soon as he comes and knocks. Blessed are those slaves whom the master finds alert when he comes; truly I tell you, he will fasten his belt and have them sit down to eat, and he will come and serve them. If he comes during the middle of the night, or near dawn, and finds them so, blessed are those slaves.

Being vigilant

1) Be ready. Life passes by quickly and there are things that you will not see again. You must be aware that time flies; that’s why it is so valuable and marks your life. Be aware that your life is unique, and you are the one writing it. The pencil that writes your life is in your hands.

2)Those who wait. We know that the destination of our journey is the intimate meeting with God, where we will manage to constantly grow. Today bring your heart back to God. He is the beginning and end of your life. Remember what Saint Augustine stated, “You have made us for yourself, O Lord, and our heart is restless until it rests in you.”

3)Wait on them. How nice it is to know that God always seeks my happiness. Yes, God wants you to be happy. Remind yourself that you must fight for your happiness; the only one who can make it difficult is yourself! So, cheer up and don’t give up… God has great things ready for your life.

God bless you in the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. And don’t forget Heaven is our goal.
