Luke 21, 29-33

Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Luke 21, 29-33

Jesus told his disciples a parable.
“Consider the fig tree and all the other trees.
When their buds burst open,
you see for yourselves and know that summer is now near;
in the same way, when you see these things happening,
know that the Kingdom of God is near.
Amen, I say to you, this generation will not pass away
until all these things have taken place.
Heaven and earth will pass away,
but my words will not pass away.”

His words will never pass away

1. You know. There are things that do not need to be explained to you as you have common sense, but you cannot play either the fool or the victim in certain situations. You cannot avoid confronting certain situations, and you must face and call all things by their name.
2. Accept what comes. Every time you make a decision, you must accept the consequences. You can’t pretend they don’t exist. Accept the good things and also what you’ve done wrong. You have to be aware of your mistakes, bow your head, and accept responsibility. You must learn from your mistakes and make this process one of strength, not weakness. You can compare this issue of sin to a credit card that allows us to buy many things easily and we like that, but if you surpass your spending amount you must pay the interest.
3. Stability. The only stable and unchanging thing in life is God. He will always be with you. We are humans and therefore in constant change, but the Gospel remains. Remember “Where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” This is a good question to think about today. Where is your treasure?
