Matthew 15,29-37

Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Matthew 15, 29-37

At that time, Jesus went to the Sea of Galilee, went up the mountain and sat on it. Many people came to him carrying the crippled, the blind, the crippled, the deaf and many others; they put them at his feet, and he healed them. The people were amazed to see the mute speak, the crippled healthy, the crippled walk, and the blind with sight, and they gave glory to the God of Israel. Jesus called his disciples and said: «I feel compassion for the people, because they have been with me for three days and they don’t have anything to eat. And I don’t want to say goodbye to them fasting, lest they faint on the way ». The disciples said to him: “Where are we going to get enough bread in a deserted area to satisfy so many people?” Jesus said to them: “How many loaves do you have?” They replied: “Seven and some fish.” He commanded the people to sit on the ground. He took the seven loaves and the fish, said thanksgiving, broke them, and gave them to the disciples, and the disciples to the people. They all ate their fill and picked up the leftovers: seven full baskets.

Jesus sat down

1) They brought to him. Jesus receives people in need, deprived of their health. How nice would it be for you to bring to Jesus the worries that make you feel deprived and in need! How nice it is to know that you can talk to Jesus face to face while he sits down to listen to you and heal you! Do you sit with Him and take time to talk to Him and tell Him about all your needs? I can imagine Jesus sitting down waiting for you while you are running around, doing this or that…and Jesus just sitting there, waiting for you. Find time to sit with Him.

2) “My heart is moved with pity.” Jesus shows compassion towards all the people, this is the attitude that you and I must have towards our brothers and sisters. We cannot be insensitive in life. It seems that we are becoming like robots. Time passes, as we get older, we become insensitive, hard like stones and some people even seem to be treating their relatives as employees. Let us be more sensitive and start worrying about the people around us.

3) There are plenty of things. When you give from your heart, there is always plenty and there is even more than enough. In life you must give without measure. Miracles are seen when people act with generosity. Let’s thank God today for all of those charitable and generous people. How many things has the Church been able to do and will still do thanks to your generosity! Today, let us be generous and do a miracle to someone.

God bless you in the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
Never forget Heaven is Our Goal!
