Live for Jesus & Mary, like Joseph did

Transcripts of Fr. Rick’s video

Hey father Rick here at Ave Maria University and I said it before, I will say it again. One of the things I love about Advent is the presence of St. Joseph.

These are the days where we get to hear his story again, and I think about him a little bit. See images of him in the nativity scenes and on Christmas cards, and it’s so good because throughout the rest of the year, sometimes we forget this man, and he’s so important so wonderful. We don’t have any of his words recorded anywhere yet, we have his example, his witness, he was given the greatest call imaginable that a man could ever receive, to take Mary as his bride and to take Jesus and raise him as his own, what an amazing call, it’s really all of our call isn’t it really to take Mary and Jesus in union with our hearts to live in a way that is pleasing to Mary and Jesus. Joseph gives us the example of how to do.

In1870 he became the patron of the universal Church, when Pius the 9th declared him dad to everyone, just as Mary is mom to everyone, Joseph is dad to everyone. St. Teresa of Avila said do not neglect going to this man he anything I’ve brought to him, he’s granted through his prayerful intercession, she said you won’t be disappointed either if you go to St. Joseph with your needs. The church is always envisioned him as the patron of a happy death, just imagining Mary on one side of his deathbed and Jesus on the other, and again it’s something we all hope for to to go and in those last moments of our lives to be comforted by the presence of our Lord and Our Lady, so we can ask Joseph to be with us and help us to live in such a way that we’re comforted on our deathbed, knowing that we’re going with the Lord.

I just want to take a moment to wish you all a Merry Christmas and to thank any of you who have watched these 2 minute videos or shared them in any way please feel free to share, them in any way that helps the glory of the kingdom and we’re gonna, take a little break I’m gonna go hang with my family for a bit celebrate Holy Family with my family, and we’ll pick back up with two-minute videos on January 12. So I hope you’re enjoying them and I hope you have a wonderful blessed Christmas season and as always may God give you peace.
