Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Luke 9,7-9.
Herod the tetrarch heard about all that was happening, and he was greatly perplexed because some were saying, “John has been raised from the dead” ;
others were saying, “Elijah has appeared”; still others, “One of the ancient prophets has arisen.”
But Herod said, “John I beheaded. Who then is this about whom I hear such things?” And he kept trying to see him.
Wanting to see Jesus.
1) The tetrarch: In him we see the figure of the person who wants everything at all costs. He represents that person who knows no boundaries, who’s blinded by power, and I don’t mean only blinded by money, but rather that person who accepts no limits and considers others who set limits as threats to his power.
2) What they say: It could refer to “cold” Christians, who only hear from God but don’t come to know Him. Get to know Jesus through the Bible, have a personal encounter as you visit Him in the Blessed Sacrament, go to Mass. Don’t be satisfied only with “what you’ve been told”, search for Him, take a moment of silence and talk to Him.
3) Find Him: It is all about looking for God, getting to know more about Him, until you long to be with Him to feel joy and happiness. Everything becomes smoother with God. Trust and look for Him.
God bless you in the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
