Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Matthew 5, 27-32

Jesus said to his disciples:
“You have heard that it was said, You shall not commit adultery.
But I say to you,
everyone who looks at a woman with lust
has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
If your right eye causes you to sin,
tear it out and throw it away.
It is better for you to lose one of your members
than to have your whole body thrown into Gehenna.
And if your right hand causes you to sin,
cut it off and throw it away.
It is better for you to lose one of your members
than to have your whole body go into Gehenna.

“It was also said,
Whoever divorces his wife must give her a bill of divorce.
But I say to you,
whoever divorces his wife (unless the marriage is unlawful)
causes her to commit adultery,
and whoever marries a divorced woman commits adultery.”

Do not commit adultery in your heart

1) Look. We often base our life on joys and pleasures. From a psychoanalytic view, joys are those passing moments that satisfy your sweet tooth, or a treasure that you don’t want to let go. Pleasure (in a psychoanalytic term not in a moral sense) implies an ultimate end, or something in life that gives you great joy or happiness. Well, in life you will have to learn to let go of small joys in order to achieve the Greater pleasure. That’s why you have to straighten out your path. You must give up certain things, or situations that please you, and learn how to let go. Take a look inside you, see what is truly important, and learn how to listen.

2) Listen. Listen to your heart and think about what you really want, because if you don’t, you can harm many people. Maybe you are just looking, fishing outside of the tank, or even living a parallel life, but this will dry up the Love in your heart, and that is terrible. These adulteries in the heart sooner or later will cost you dearly. At first, you might enjoy it, but these pleasures can come to destroy you. You can even disguise it with a spiritual cover up saying: “God will help me get out of this.” In the end, it hurts a lot because God is not there, only your selfishness. That selfishness will trick you.

3) Walk. I mean leave your selfish desires and start building your heart with God. Walk away, get out, step outside. Deprive yourself of what might harm you and others and rearrange your life. You can keep going in life only if you know where you stand and where you are heading. Learn to give up things and situations, knowing what it is you really want.

God bless you in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Remember, Heaven is our goal!
