Matthew 18,1-5.10

by Fr. Luis A. Zazano
Matthew 18, 1-5.10

Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Matthew 18,1-5.10.

The disciples approached Jesus and said, “Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?”
He called a child over, placed it in their midst, and said, “Amen, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven.
Whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
And whoever receives one child such as this in my name receives me.
See that you do not despise one of these little ones, for I say to you that their angels in heaven always look upon the face of my heavenly Father..

The Angels protect us.

1) Be small: Never forget that a true disciple of Jesus does not seek greatness or positions, does not seek lights for himself, nor does he want to be the star; a true disciple lives in that smallness only achieved by God’s grace. Being small is knowing that God is so great, that he embraces everything, and fills us up with his love.

2) Do not despise: Once you encounter Jesus, your heart opens up. Christians do not despise, but rather does good without looking to whom. Remember we all are children of God, that is the greatest greatness. That is why every person is unique and unrepeatable, every person is valuable.

3) The angels: Today we celebrate guardian angels, those who take care of us day by day. Start bonding with your guardian angel today, knowing God loves you so much and wants to take care of you so much, that he sent an angel just for you, only to guard you and walk with you on your journey to heaven. God wants everyone to be saved and be with him eternally. Do you want to spend eternity with God? Come on! Let your angel help you.

God bless you in the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. And do not forget Heaven is our Goal.
