Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Mark 16,15-20
Jesus said to the eleven: “Go into the whole world and proclaim the Gospel to every creature.
Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved; whoever does not believe will be condemned.
These signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will drive out demons, they will speak new languages.
They will pick up serpents (with their hands), and if they drink any deadly thing, it will not harm them. They will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”
So then the Lord Jesus, after he spoke to them, was taken up into heaven and took his seat at the right hand of God.
But they went forth and preached everywhere, while the Lord worked with them and confirmed the word through accompanying signs.
With the feet on the ground and our sight to heaven
1) Our feet on the ground- you and I know that as Christians know that extremes are wrong. We are called upon to live simply. With our feet on the ground, we cannot be crazy Christians that live in an unreal world. We need to live and be inside reality.
2) Our sight up to heaven: We cannot be so realist that we become pessimists, canceling the work of God inside us. Our sight up above means that there is always hope for the person that believes. It is knowing that you must give everything to God, including the obstacles in your life that you are unable to solve. It also implies that you do what you can, and God will do what you cannot.
3) Fatima: today we join a festivity with another that of Fatima. It is to look for simple people like Mary did with the shepherd children where they were commoners who walk firmly on the ground, but their sight is above. Entrust your life and mine, and the church also to Mary. She makes our path easier and our sight stronger. Come on, with the help of Mary until we reach heaven we do stop.
God bless you in the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Remember Heaven is our goal!
