John 14, 7-14

Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint John 14,7-14

Jesus said to his disciples:  “If you know me, then you will also know my Father.  From now on you do know him and have seen him.”
Philip said to him, “Master, show us the Father, and that will be enough for us.”
Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you for so long a time and you still do not know me, Philip? Whoever has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?
Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words that I speak to you I do not speak on my own. The Father who dwells in me is doing his works.
Believe me that I am in the Father and the Father is in me, or else, believe because of the works themselves.
Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever believes in me will do the works that I do, and will do greater ones than these, because I am going to the Father.
And whatever you ask in my name, I will do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
If you ask anything of me in my name, I will do it.

Get to know our Father

1) Getting to know: religion is a way to get to know God. It allows to reconnect with the presence of God and getting to know Him. The knowledge of God is acquired not only intellectually or reading in a manual. The knowledge of God is a whole. It considers you as a persona and all your being. God is proposing to grow beside Him and getting to know Him in a real and close way where there is only you and Him.

2) Religious works: in Christian life, the person that gets to know Jesus is marking a concrete action in your life. You cannot be a Christian only Sundays from 8-9 p.m. when you go to Church. You must be a Christian always and give the example to others always. It is hard, when are not often coherent and we commit sins along the way. Religious works are a gift and a grace from God.

3) God makes: we are simple instruments and God is the one who works and moves us in the eternal road to Him. He invites you to live and fight the obstacles along the way to reach what you love and makes you happy. Live for, with and together with God.
God bless you in the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.
