Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Matthew 10,7-13
Jesus said to his Apostles: “As you go, make this proclamation: ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’
Cure the sick, raise the dead, cleanse lepers, drive out demons. Without cost you have received; without cost you are to give.”
Do not take gold or silver or copper for your belts;
no sack for the journey, or a second tunic, or sandals, or walking stick. The laborer deserves his keep.
Whatever town or village you enter, look for a worthy person in it, and stay there until you leave.
As you enter a house, wish it peace.
If the house is worthy, let your peace come upon it; if not, let your peace return to you.”
To Announce
1) Go out: Today you are part of a Church in action. A church that’s alive and you can demonstrate it in every word, with your testimony, and in every text that you send out. However, there is something very important : “talk about Jesus in social media”, but don’t get people “tired of Jesus in social media”. Don’t overwhelm those around you. Please don’t misunderstand me, but sometimes people take the mission in a fanatic way and this tends to push people away. I am inviting you to Announce Jesus with simplicity, in a one on one situation .
2) City: This “going out” action also asks us to go to different areas, different surroundings. It means listening to others who think differently than we do or live a different lifestyles. Take time to accompany them as a good Samaritan ; to heal their wounds by listening, comforting them, and keeping them company.
3) Apostles: God calls us to be apostles. When we encounter Jesus, He leads us, as apostles, to see life in a different way. This is where the process begins and this makes His apostles different. That’s why you should go back to Jesus and be strong. The apostles had everything against them, even the people, but they had God and that alone is enough. God can change your situation. It is enough to have God.
