Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Matthew 6,7-15
Jesus said to his disciples:
“In praying, do not babble like the pagans, who think that they will be heard because of their many words.
Do not be like them. Your Father knows what you need before you ask him.
This is how you are to pray: Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread;
and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors;
and do not subject us to the final test, but deliver us from the evil one.
If you forgive others their transgressions, your heavenly Father will forgive you.
But if you do not forgive others, neither will your Father forgive your transgressions.”
To pray is to speak from the heart
1) Words: there are times that it seems that we confuse God with different message, but the extraordinary fact about this is that God sees and listens to your heart. I understand you might not get this concept, but remain calm. Do not lessen your prayers to only orders. Prayer consists not only in asking what we want, rather a conversation with God to tell him your troubles, what you feel and live. Prayer consists in sharing your life with God. God is our companion in life and should not be considered an ATM where I seek and obtain. God is our companion always in the good and the bad.
2) Holy Father: The most common prayer is the key to our Christian life. When we say the pray, we must ponder on each word since this is what opens the conversation with God. It creates a bond with God that we must cherish. Today, I invite you to say the words slowly and ponder what words you express because these will stay in your heart. I, on the other hand, by saying this, the sentence that affects me the most is “and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us” This is very deep, are you able to forgive? Are you a trespasser? This is what we should think about.
3) What is secret: Jesus continues showing you that He does not want you as a youtuber, nor an influencer where you are exposed 24 hours a day your Christian life to others. God is always looking to get closer to you, so please find Him everyday.
