Matthew 19,23-30

Matthew 19 23-30

Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Matthew 19,23-30

Jesus said to his disciples: “Amen, I say to you, it will be hard for one who is rich to enter the kingdom of heaven.
Again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for one who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.”
When the disciples heard this, they were greatly astonished and said, “Who then can be saved?”
Jesus looked at them and said, “For human beings this is impossible, but for God all things are possible.”
Then Peter said to him in reply, “We have given up everything and followed you. What will there be for us?”
Jesus said to them, “Amen, I say to you that you who have followed me, in the new age, when the Son of Man is seated on his throne of glory, will yourselves sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
And everyone who has given up houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or lands for the sake of my name will receive a hundred times more, and will inherit eternal life.
But many who are first will be last, and the last will be first.”

For God everything is possible

1) The rich: it is the counterpart of what is known as “anawin” which means “poor in spirit.” It refers to the person who absorbs everything for himself…he does not know how to trust God. The funny thing about this type of wealth is that the person thinks he can do everything.
Instead of asking God to help him in life, he asks God to do what he commands.
Material wealth doesn’t last forever, but whoever is “rich” in this way is not even satisfied by material things. He might have every material thing, but even that does not fulfill him.

2) Renounce: This is what God invites you to do everyday: to give up something in order to grow. It is a spiritual strength one must try to build, but it is really very difficult on a daily basis. It is quitting or renouncing something in order to grow; it is maturing what demands a deeper union with God.

3) Eternal life. Look for things which lead you to have a life in God. Do not stop fighting for heaven and have peace in your heart… because God is with you. Today , if you know you need to renounce excess in your life… do it! Ask God to help you . Remember, for God, nothing is impossible.

And remember:
Heaven is our goal ! God bless you in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
