Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Luke 9,43b-45.
While they were all amazed at his every deed, he said to his disciples,
“Pay attention to what I am telling you. The Son of Man is to be handed over to men.”
But they did not understand this saying; its meaning was hidden from them so that they should not understand it, and they were afraid to ask him about this saying.
Everything is understood in time
1) Admiration: We live our religion knowing that Jesus is always with us and that it is beautiful to follow Him. Knowing Jesus is the most beautiful thing that can happen to you in life. When you experience God, you never forget that moment because there is something inside you that changes, and that’s what makes you love life and everything that’s around you. That’s where admiration comes into action; when you know Jesus you open your heart and that admiration leads you to want to be like Him and to love life like He did.
2)Fanaticism: This is something we have to be careful of: When a Christian falls into fanaticism, he hurts the church and hurts himself. Fanaticism means that a person has no limits. He goes to extremes and can even fall into a kind of “mysticism” in which he makes God or Our Lady say things that are not true, or that they never said. We must be careful in this …even the Pope mentioned this when he spoke of people who were more dedicated to reading revelations or visions, than reading the Word of God.
3)Balance: Discovering Jesus helps us go deeper into our faith. Any vision or revelation should lead us to Christ. It should invite us to delve into seeking the Lord; in to changing our attitude, and seeking our own conversion. This is clear in the revelations of Our Lady of Fatima and Lourdes, which immerse us in the mystery of Jesus and enlighten us with His Word as well as with the Eucharist.
When we come together with our brethren in the same bread which is broken and shared, we find a balance. We are not fanatics, we are in love! Obsession is pathological but love is grace. God-bless you in the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Remember, heaven is our goal.
