Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Luke 13,31-35
Some Pharisees came to Jesus and said, “Go away, leave this area because Herod wants to kill you.”
He replied, “Go and tell that fox, ‘Behold, I cast out demons and I perform healings today and tomorrow, and on the third day I accomplish my purpose.
Yet I must continue on my way today, tomorrow, and the following day, for it is impossible that a prophet should die outside of Jerusalem.’
Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how many times I yearned to gather your children together as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, but you were unwilling!
Behold, your house will be abandoned. (But) I tell you, you will not see me until (the time comes when) you say, ‘Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.'”
Do what needs to be done
1) They seek you: Jesus is clear that not everyone likes him, but this does not make him reorganize his life, on the contrary, it settles it. It is clear that if you are doing the will of God and you are doing what makes you happy, (what corresponds to you), you will do a lot of good, but many are not going to like it. It always puts in the balance, what you have been doing and its positive effect… with its negative effect or the gossip that might come from it. I am sure that you will also have a “Herod” who will try to liquidate you; I also have one and you are sure to have one too … but do not let him stop you from that beautiful mission for which you were chosen.
2) I have to do: Do not allow the gossip and the people who want to block you, stop you from the beautiful things that you can do in this life. Do not let “looking good” with everyone, or simple fear, lead you to stop healing so many people and changing the lives of many others. Keep doing those beautiful things that you do; Keep striving for that future that you see clearly; Keep fighting for that which marks your life and do not let those “Herods” extinguish the flame that is inside you.
3) Gather: Unity is what God seeks and it is what man will always lack. How hard it is for us to be united and how often we lean towards division and individuality! Today we ask for our Church to be more united, for our country to be more united, and for our world. As Martín Fierro would say “That the brothers be united, that is the first law. If not, the outsiders will devour us.”
God-bless you in the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Remember, heaven is our goal !
