Matthew 21 33 43

Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Matthew 21,33-43

Jesus said to the chief priests and the elders of the people: “Hear another parable. There was a landowner who planted a vineyard, put a hedge around it, dug a wine press in it, and built a tower. Then he leased it to tenants and went on a journey.
When vintage time drew near, he sent his servants to the tenants to obtain his produce.
But the tenants seized the servants and one they beat, another they killed, and a third they stoned.
Again he sent other servants, more numerous than the first ones, but they treated them in the same way.
Finally, he sent his son to them, thinking, ‘They will respect my son.’
But when the tenants saw the son, they said to one another, ‘This is the heir. Come, let us kill him and acquire his inheritance.’
They seized him, threw him out of the vineyard, and killed him.
What will the owner of the vineyard do to those tenants when he comes?”
They answered him, “He will put those wretched men to a wretched death and lease his vineyard to other tenants who will give him the produce at the proper times.”
Jesus said to them, “Did you never read in the scriptures: ‘The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone; by the Lord has this been done, and it is wonderful in our eyes’?
Therefore, I say to you, the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people that will produce its fruit.

This is God’s property

1. He had some land. The king is God, and God owns life. He “leases” that life to you… He asks you to take care of it and bear fruit. That land; your life; gives profit… because every life yields in abundance. What’s more, you can make a profit in this life and leave a great contribution in this world. But pride might lead you to believe that you are the owner of your life; of everything, and not just the administrator. Sometimes, when we have the things and the power they entail, no one can stop us – we think we own everything. The problem arises when you have to account for what you were given! That’s when things get complicated because you realize that it’s not so easy, and that you’re not the owner. How horrible it is when an administrator thinks he owns it all.

2 The vineyard workers. When pride takes over, our own interest can lead us to turn into “murderers”. There are people who lose their minds in life because, they think they own everything and everyone. You write your story; the story of your life; but the pencil and paper belong to God. The Lord continually sends people into your life who try to hold you back and remind you to be humble. They remind you that you cannot walk along in life just like that, full of arrogance and self-importance; but there are also times when you just “murder” others with your cruel words or with your attitudes; you “murder” others by ignoring their fraternal correction which goes in one ear and out the other. How many people and situations God sends to remind you that you are simply an administrator! And you continue to take over life as if nothing were wrong!

3. His Son. Today you are invited to speak to the Son. Come to Jesus and talk to Him; ask Him what He wants from you, and think about whether you are actually doing His will. Put your heart at His disposal. Strip yourself of your pride before Him and hide nothing from Him. It is time you settled the accounts of your life and acknowledge your mistakes and your virtues; the profits and debts you have in life. I think you can have a nice talk with God today. He is a good owner of the vineyard; He won’t take your profit, He’ll help you invest it. Come on! You’ve only got one life and it’s beautiful! Enjoy it and administer it wisely !!!

Don’t forget: Heaven is our goal!
God bless you in the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
