Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Luke 17,26-37
Jesus said to his disciples: “As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be in the days of the Son of Man;
they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage up to the day that Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all.
Similarly, as it was in the days of Lot: they were eating, drinking, buying, selling, planting, building;
on the day when Lot left Sodom, fire and brimstone rained from the sky to destroy them all.
So it will be on the day the Son of Man is revealed.
On that day, a person who is on the housetop and whose belongings are in the house must not go down to get them, and likewise a person in the field must not return to what was left behind.
Remember the wife of Lot.
Whoever seeks to preserve his life will lose it, but whoever loses it will save it.
I tell you, on that night there will be two people in one bed; one will be taken, the other left.
And there will be two women grinding meal together; one will be taken, the other left.”
They said to him in reply, “Where, Lord?” He said to them, “Where the body is, there also the vultures will gather.”
Do not look back
1) Time to change: We are already in the last stages of this month and the last month of the year is approaching. It is time to change and face reality, not to be stubborn. But take a step back and recognize that there are things in which we have been wrong. Don’t be stubborn with yourself, with your family, or with projects. There are times that, out of pride, one goes on and on. It would be good if today you analyze your life from this point of view: ask yourself, “Today, do I continue in this situation because I am stubborn or because it is God’s plan for my life?”
2) Time to time: Everything in life has its time and its moment. There are times when you will be looking up, and times when you only look down. There will be bad times when you need help, and other times when everything is going your way! As Saint Paul would say: “I learned to live in abundance and in lack.” Remember that life is dynamic, so learn to move …
3) Do not look back: Lot is an example; do not live looking back at those disappointments that have happened. Life goes on and you have to go on too. Don’t stop looking forward to the goals you have and where you want to go. Keep dreaming of those projects and proposed plans that you have for your life. Remember: “The only thing that is not achieved is that which is not attempted.” Try to move on and look at life with a vision of the future; don’t focus on the past, or those people who hurt you. Put yourself in gear, and to get moving !
