Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Luke 21,5-11
While some people were speaking about how the temple was adorned with costly stones and votive offerings, Jesus said,
“All that you see here–the days will come when there will not be left a stone upon another stone that will not be thrown down.”
Then they asked him, “Teacher, when will this happen? And what sign will there be when all these things are about to happen?”
He answered, “See that you not be deceived, for many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am he,’ and ‘The time has come.’ Do not follow them!
When you hear of wars and insurrections, do not be terrified; for such things must happen first, but it will not immediately be the end.”
Then he said to them, “Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.
There will be powerful earthquakes, famines, and plagues from place to place; and awesome sights and mighty signs will come from the sky.”
God’s time
1) Destroyed: Remember that phrase of the philosopher: ” this too shall pass.” And so it does; everything will pass by in life. There are things that are destroyed and things that are built. Life is dynamic and that is why I insist so much that you should enjoy more of the moments that life presents to you. Do not hold on to things, or even people. Remember that with the things of the Church, it is said, “if it is not from God, it will not last.” When things are of God they have permanence, but if things are of our own whim, no matter how good they are, they do not remain.
2) In my name: Many use the name of Jesus to profit for themselves. It is necessary to identify them and stay away from them. Do not allow it. Even people who are inserted in the community use Jesus for their own benefit. They resort to supernatural issues almost calling themselves “messengers of God”. They even tell you “God has given me a word for you”. Be careful and cautious with these things. God is found in everyday things; normal and simple.
3) His time: We are waiting for the second coming of Jesus Christ. Neither you nor I know when our last day here on earth will be, but we know that our hearts must be clean and pure day by day to reach heaven; our place…our home.
