Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Luke 1,46-56
Mary said: “My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord;
my spirit rejoices in God my savior.
For he has looked with favor on his lowly servant;
from this day all generations will call me blessed.
The Almighty has done great things for me,
and holy is his name.
He has mercy on those who fear him
in every generation.
He has shown might with his arm, dispersed the arrogant of mind and heart.
He has thrown down the rulers from their thrones but lifted up the lowly.
He has filled the hungry with good things;
and the rich he has sent away empty.
He has come to the help of his servant Israel ,
remembering his promise of mercy,
The promise he made to our fathers,
to Abraham and to his descendants forever.”
Mary remained with her about three months and then returned to her home.
My soul sings
1) I recognize my smallness: it is knowing that God knows everything about you. You cannot deceive Him. Show yourself like you are to God, show Him what you have, stop lying to yourself and to God. Stop lying to yourself. We lie about silly things. We say we are about to arrive when we are thirty minutes late. Tell the truth as it is. He is not someone who lies to you nor will you be able to lie to Him. We often ask God to grant us a favor or to solve the small problems that we create. He knows you and accepts you as you are. He loves you as you are. Don’t lie to yourself either, learn to be sincere with yourself and to call things by their true name. What is white is white and what is black is black. Don’t deceive yourself. If you are sincere with yourself and learn to look at your smallness, you will be a great person in this story, a great person in your story.
2) His mercy extends: if today you are God’s witness and you have an encounter with Christ, if today you have the experience of God, how do you manifest this experience through mercy. In that act of mercy towards your brothers and sisters. Learn to be merciful and to live with mercy. Accept your brother. Nobody is exempt from anything. Don’t say, not me. I remember a priest, a priest who had been the secretary of the bishop, who would look at all of us from his lofty position. He suffered a slip in life and then would not even attend meetings. He slipped. No one is exempt. Today you may look at someone from a higher position but tomorrow you may be looking at everyone from below. Learn to be merciful. Today you may be on top but tomorrow you may be on the bottom.
3) Happy: Mary found happiness in Jesus. That doesn’t mean she didn’t go through pain and suffering. But She suffered with Jesus.
You can go through everything, everything in this life, with Jesus. He is coming and he reigns.
God bless you in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Remember, heaven is our goal.
