Mark 4,26-34

by Fr. Luis A. Zazano

Jesus said to the crowds: “This is how it is with the Kingdom of God; it is as if a man were to scatter seed on the land
and would sleep and rise night and day and the seed would sprout and grow, he knows not how.
Of its own accord the land yields fruit, first the blade, then the ear, then the full grain in the ear.
And when the grain is ripe, he wields the sickle at once, for the harvest has come.”
He said, “To what shall we compare the kingdom of God, or what parable can we use for it?
It is like a mustard seed that, when it is sown in the ground, is the smallest of all the seeds on the earth.
But once it is sown, it springs up and becomes the largest of plants and puts forth large branches, so that the birds of the sky can dwell in its shade.”
With many such parables he spoke the word to them as they were able to understand it.
Without parables he did not speak to them, but to his own disciples he explained everything in private.

Things are done slowly

1) A process: Life is a process; the things you do, think, and say require analysis and self-critique. But above all, remember that life is a process and nothing is achieved from one day to the next. Things are achieved with work and time. Working and waiting, you win great things in your life; as Clement XI said: “I DO THINGS AS IF GOD DOES NOT EXIST, AND ENTRUST THINGS TO GOD AS IF I DID NOT EXIST “.

2) The actions: in this journey, you will find two axis; two requirements:
A) Endurance: you have to be ready to accept things as they are, and know that you cannot change them; you must endure. For example: if your parents are one way or another, you have to accept that they are like that and do not seek to change them.

B) Patience: it refers to the situation that some things can be changed. You can make the effort and work to change them. But you know this change takes time, so you must wait. When you need to wait and to work on changes, it’s necessary to be patient.

3) The Word of God: you need to take time to read the Word of God. Take that time to talk to God and you can use the Bible’s word to talk to your Lord.
God bless you in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Remember, heaven is our goal!
