Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Mark 6,53-56
After making the crossing to the other side of the sea, Jesus and his disciples came to land at Gennesaret and tied up there.
As they were leaving the boat, people immediately recognized him.
They scurried about the surrounding country and began to bring in the sick on mats to wherever they heard he was.
Whatever villages or towns or countryside he entered, they laid the sick in the marketplaces and begged him that they might touch only the tassel on his cloak; and as many as touched it were healed.
Recognizing Jesus has come to heal you
1 To cross: That is what Jesus does, he goes and crosses over, he does not stay still. A Christian cannot stand still in his square meter. We have to go out… do like the evangelists, who come out and look for others. They are not lazy, and they do not mind having the door slammed in their face. We have to cross over and look for our brother.
2 To Touch: It is what takes us from our neediness to being cured, and feeling loved. Healing comes through the recognition of Christ, and also through the Lord’s touch.
3 To Heal: Going to meet Jesus also makes you heal with Jesus. Today we know many many sick people; many are just sick of life. There are people with a lot of heartaches. Help those who are sad and anxious, they need you. Save lives and bet on God.
