Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Mark 7,24-30
Jesus went to the district of Tyre. He entered a house and wanted no one to know about it, but he could not escape notice.
Soon a woman whose daughter had an unclean spirit heard about him. She came and fell at his feet.
The woman was a Greek, a Syrophoenician by birth, and she begged him to drive the demon out of her daughter.
He said to her, “Let the children be fed first. For it is not right to take the food of the children and throw it to the dogs.”
She replied and said to him, “Lord, even the dogs under the table eat the children’s scraps.”
Then he said to her, “For saying this, you may go. The demon has gone out of your daughter.”
When the woman went home, she found the child lying in bed and the demon gone.
A mother’s faith is miraculous
1) A Mother: I am thinking about your mother and mine. How many times have they prayed to God for you and for me? A mother cares for her son and becomes desperate when she sees that he seems demonized, that is, without God, without light, without anything. This woman was not religious, but seeing her son like that makes her turn to Jesus. How many mothers turn to Jesus on behalf of their son? Today, you are God´s answer to your mother´s prayers. How many times has she prayed for you? A mother cares for her child and takes him to Jesus. Today, you are God´s answer to your mother´s prayers. Don’t forget this.
2) The request: Ask for God’s help but also help yourself.
The key is to pray and ask God for grace at the right moment. Do not get down, just ask and ask. Don’t stop asking. We have to insist. Don’t get down when things don’t turn out the way you would like and it seems that God is not around. This woman doesn’t give up, she fights for her request. Drive God crazy, ask Him, do not get tired of asking Him, insist. God, please help me with this. I have been asking for a long time, years. That’s what God is for. Ask, insist, pray so that he frees you, helps you and grants you the miracle that you have been asking for.
3) Free yourself of the devil: One of the devil’s keys is falsehood.
Be wholesome and honest. Don’t waste your time with the lack of God and falsehood. Be firm and clear. God is with you, but please don’t be false. Today, we ask God to make us honest. Don’t forget that you are an answer from God.
