Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Matthew 5,43-48
Jesus said to his disciples: “You have heard that it was said, You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.
But I say to you, love your enemies, and pray for those who persecute you,
that you may be children of your heavenly Father, for he makes his sun rise on the bad and the good, and causes rain to fall on the just and the unjust.
For if you love those who love you, what recompense will you have? Do not the tax collectors do the same?
And if you greet your brothers only, what is unusual about that? Do not the pagans do the same?
So be perfect, just as your heavenly Father is perfect.”
To be perfect
1) Loving: Loving implies giving life and giving oneself. This requires resignation and surrender. If you truly love someone, this requires a payment. There must be something you offer; a sacrifice. Because true love implies dying to yourself, to develop the relationship. Today being willing to love means being willing to sacrifice and give something up in order to truly win.
The enemies: There are people who will effectively cross you, and complicate your life. The problem is when you give them a privileged place in your life… when you center your life on that person who hurt you, forgetting everything else around you. Your life is not reduced to one person, or a group of people who hurt you. You must learn from those wounds that others gave you, and grow stronger.
3) Perfection: It is understood here as fullness. It means getting to the best version of yourself. Do not focus on downfalls and mistakes, rather look for what helps you to become the best version of yourself, and strive to grow day by day.
God bless you in the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Remember, heaven is our goal !
