Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Matthew 5,17-19.
Jesus said to his disciples: “Do not think that I have come to abolish the law or the prophets. I have come not to abolish but to fulfill.
Amen, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or the smallest part of a letter will pass from the law, until all things have taken place.
Therefore, whoever breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do so will be called least in the kingdom of heaven. But whoever obeys and teaches these commandments will be called greatest in the kingdom of heaven.”
Comply and pretend
1) To comply: Do not stop meditating God’s word. Make the most of these days of isolation by taking the Bible, the Word, and reading a passage or downloading the application so that you can take advantage and read a little bit of the word of God. The word of God is so important that Jesus backs it up but many times we do not even look at it. We may have the Bible as an ornament in the house or as a lucky charm. Take advantage and read the Word, just a little, it is going to do you a great deal of good.
2) Fulfill: To love God is to fulfill everything because He himself leads you to it. Being Christians today implies being good citizens and complying with what society dictates, complying with quarantine expectations as we should, being prudent, taking care of each other, being responsible, remembering that these days are not vacation but a time of shelter and of care.
3) Be giants: It is in this point, that having supernatural vision is key. We will be giants when we discover who we are and where we are going. We are children of God. The road to heaven does not stop, but you and I are called to walk and struggle together. God does not want us to save ourselves alone. We are a family and for this reason we must help one another. I invite you to say the prayer we have been praying these days due to the pandemic. Eternal God, today we come before you to plead for each one of us. We are weak and we need you. Give us health in order to give ourselves to others each day. Grant us the tranquility so that this coronavirus epidemic does not take our social peace nor cause us to lose our mind. Give us the humility to remember that as human beings we are not all powerful. Grant us the wisdom to find the cure and the prudence to help take care of our community with responsibility. We ask this of you who is our hope and our relief. Amen
God bless you and be with you in the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. And always remember, Heaven is our goal!
