Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint John 3,1-8
There was a Pharisee named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews.
He came to Jesus at night and said to him,
“Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher who has come from God,
for no one can do these signs that you are doing
unless God is with him.”
Jesus answered and said to him,
“Amen, amen, I say to you,
unless one is born from above, he cannot see the Kingdom of God.”
Nicodemus said to him,
“How can a man once grown old be born again?
Surely he cannot reenter his mother’s womb and be born again, can he?”
Jesus answered,
“Amen, amen, I say to you,
unless one is born of water and Spirit
he cannot enter the Kingdom of God.
What is born of flesh is flesh
and what is born of spirit is spirit.
Do not be amazed that I told you,
‘You must be born from above.’
The wind blows where it wills,
and you can hear the sound it makes,
but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes;
so it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit”.
To be reborn
1) Being: Knowing who you are is the first thing that one must work on to be reborn. Observe your personality, that which makes you different and unique. Your personality is unique. Here are three parts that you should remember:
a) There is a side of you that we all know and see, and you also see it.
b) There is another side of you that we do not see, but that you do know and you hide.
c) There is another part that we see of you, but that you do not want to accept about you.
Before being reborn, first notice where you stand.
2) Up above: look at the supernatural and remember that your life is not only material things. There are things that involve spirituality. Today you must seek that spirituality and grow in it during these times. Keep your spirit strong as this will give you joy and peace.
3) Renew: to rise above is to have “spirituality”. This is what we do in quarantine with masses, prayers, formation, retreats, etc. Spirituality plus “attitude” yields more change in your life. For example, an element of logic: I fall in love when I find the most beautiful woman. No! You fall in love when you manage to see the one who is with you as the most beautiful. So, it’s not that you have to change your life, you have to find a new way to look at your life. That is what helps you to be reborn.
