John 6,52-59

John-6-52-59

Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint John 6,52-59

The Jews quarreled among themselves, saying, “How can this man give us his Flesh to eat?”
Jesus said to them, “Amen, amen, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you do not have life within you.
Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him on the last day.
For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink.
Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me and I in him.
Just as the living Father sent me and I have life because of the Father, so also the one who feeds on me will have life because of me.
This is the bread that came down from heaven. Unlike your ancestors who ate and still died, whoever eats this bread will live forever.”
These things he said while teaching in the synagogue in Capernaum.

God feeds you

1) Life: You are called to have life. You are not a dead being, you are called to have Christ in your heart, to live and enjoy life. A Christian has life in Christ through the sacraments, through prayer, and through works of charity. He tries to take care of these things in your daily life. Do not give up or give yourself over to death… ask Christ for life; fight for life, and give yourself to life.

2) My flesh: It is our great Joy to be nourished by Jesus through His flesh. This is how we discover that God wants to fill us with Himself and He wants to satisfy us with His love. Nourish yourself with God. Don’t allow yourself to become spiritually malnourished.

3) Communion: Today we must ask God for communion. Why is it so difficult for us to build our community? Coming together with our brothers should be helpful and healing, but there are times when we do not have an encounter that heals. Too much action can lead us to forget our brothers who are next to us. Let us ask God today for the gift of community; for the gift of unity, and for the gift of communion.

God-bless you in the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Don’t forget heaven is our goal!
