Mark-16-9-15

Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Mark 16,9-15

When Jesus had risen, early on the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had driven seven demons.
She went and told his companions who were mourning and weeping.
When they heard that he was alive and had been seen by her, they did not believe.
After this he appeared in another form to two of them walking along on their way to the country.
They returned and told the others; but they did not believe them either.
(But) later, as the eleven were at table, he appeared to them and rebuked them for their unbelief and hardness of heart because they had not believed those who saw him after he had been raised.
He said to them, “Go into the whole world and proclaim the gospel to every creature.”

Jesus appears

1) He appears so you will believe. Sinner-announcer: this is the process that we see in Mary Magdalene. She escapes all logic of that time. Not only is it surprising that a woman announced His Resurrection, but also we see that the most sinful can become a great herald. It is God who reminds you today, that you no longer look at your past sin, rather look at what you announce with your life today.

2) Grieving and crying: sooner or later we all go through that stage where grief and tears take us. I start to think of so many who cry today, and feel that everything is lost.

3) Jesus appears: He is our hope; so don’t let anyone steal your hope! People might fail you, governments fail you, but God will not fail you. Put your hope in God and only in God. It is Jesus who comes to meet you today. Don’t be afraid and trust.

God-bless you in the name of the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit. Remember heaven is our goal!
