Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint John 16, 23-28
Jesus said to his disciples, “Very truly, I tell you, if you ask anything of the Father in my name, he will give it to you. Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, so that your joy may be complete. “I have said these things to you in figures of speech. The hour is coming when I will no longer speak to you in figures, but will tell you plainly of the Father. On that day you will ask in my name. I do not say to you that I will ask the Father on your behalf; for the Father himself loves you, because you have loved me and have believed that I came from God. I came from the Father and have come into the world; again, I am leaving the world and am going to the Father.”
Go to the Father.
1) What I ask: Today we are still invited to pray; to speak with God in your own words, and with your way of being. Jesus knows everything about you and he knows your limits. Do not stop talking to God, in your own way and words. It is necessary that you look for that little moment to speak with God and converse with Him. Adjust your schedule and give yourself that opportunity to open yourself up to Him.
2) Joy: You are called to seek the positive: what encourages you and what makes you happy. Surely you are going to have many difficulties in life: people who bring you down or those who simply make your life impossible. But your strength is in living your spirituality; in having that relationship with God. Take care of your relationship with God. Don’t let anyone take away your joy of living !
3) They love me: We are on our way to Pentecost. Tomorrow we celebrate the Ascension. Your gaze must be upwards, towards heaven. Your hope is there, in heaven. In this life we have many struggles and many downfalls, but remember, God is with you and he needs you too. Do not stop fighting and do not forget that you are not alone. We won’t stop, until we get to heaven !!!
