Mark 6, 30-34

Mark 6, 30-34

Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Mark 6, 30-34

The Apostles gathered together with Jesus
and reported all they had done and taught.
He said to them,
“Come away by yourselves to a deserted place and rest a while.”
People were coming and going in great numbers,
and they had no opportunity even to eat.
So they went off in the boat by themselves to a deserted place.
People saw them leaving and many came to know about it.
They hastened there on foot from all the towns
and arrived at the place before them.

When Jesus disembarked and saw the vast crowd,
his heart was moved with pity for them,
for they were like sheep without a shepherd;
and he began to teach them many things.

Rest in Jesus

1) There is no time. We live in a frenetic world where we do not have time even for rest. We don’t find the time to pray. We don’t find time to be with our family or talk to our loved ones. It is necessary to find time to look inside. Take a moment for your personal prayer and that moment of relaxation, because it is part of your life. We need it! Discover how to do what is needed at the right time.

2) Rest in Jesus. Today, Jesus invites you to rest, to seek a moment with Him and let Him know your troubles so He can help. Remember the book of Ecclesiastes, everything has its time. The key is to get together with God and fill yourself with His Love and His Peace. Seek to speak with Jesus today from the depth of your heart.

3) Compassion. For those of us who work in our parish church, in groups or movements, this is important. First, find your time to pray, and then have your time to act and fill yourself with the Word of the gospel. Compassion, in Christians, is not an attitude that comes from the sentimental point of view; it is a deeply spiritual attitude. Did you take the time to be compassionate with others? Reflect on it.

May God bless you in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Always remember that Heaven is our goal.
