Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Mark 8, 11-13
The Pharisees came forward and began to argue with Jesus,
seeking from him a sign from heaven to test him.
He sighed from the depth of his spirit and said,
“Why does this generation seek a sign?
Amen, I say to you, no sign will be given to this generation.”
Then he left them, got into the boat again,
and went off to the other shore.
The biggest sign that God exists is you
1) They put Him to the test. Life also tests us, there are obstacles one must overcome, just as one must do when practising a sport. To strengthen your muscles, you must exercise every day with a schedule. Practice and training will lead to growth in any sport. In your life, you have had many tests and have cried over them. The obstacles are hard because they often hurt, but in the long run they make us stronger. God never leaves us alone. He is always on our side cheering us on. Keep on fighting with a great ally by your side.
2) Signs. You might feel lost and unsure what to do or where to go and it is perfectly all right to ask God for signs. But the important thing is to ask Him for signs of what He wants from us. Ask God for light to be able to see. I am sure that the signs from God are in front of you and you just have to look closely. Go on and examine your life. You have had plenty of signs from God in your life, and He will continue to give signs to you.
3) The best sign is you. Jesus wanted to die to redeem all humanity. You are worth the sacrifice He made. Your life is valuable. You are not a machine. You are a human being in search of happiness. Love who you are, your family and your circumstances. God is with you and with the cross you carry. Everything will end well. God makes all things new. Let’s begin the week looking in the mirror and asking, ‘am I a sign of God?’ Of course, you are!
God bless you in the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Take care!
Don’t forget, Heaven is our goal!
