John 15, 18-21

by Fr. Luis A. Zazano
John 15, 18-21

Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint John 15, 18-21

Jesus said to his disciples:
“If the world hates you, realize that it hated me first.
If you belonged to the world, the world would love its own;
but because you do not belong to the world,
and I have chosen you out of the world,
the world hates you.
Remember the word I spoke to you,
‘No slave is greater than his master.’
If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you.
If they kept my word, they will also keep yours.
And they will do all these things to you on account of my name,
because they do not know the one who sent me.”

The Lord invites you to illuminate the world

1) The world is fascinating, but it is one thing to work in the world and another thing to be of the world.  Today the Lord invites you to illuminate the world in which we live but with your look on Him.

2) This world is full of temptation and materialism, and everything that is not God. It is very important to take care of your spirituality and your relationship with God.

3)  When one becomes worldly, first our thoughts fall into that worldliness, then our look and lastly our words. Please do not distance yourself from God. Do not let your thoughts turn away from God by thinking only of pleasing others; do not let your look turn away from God, otherwise your aim will only be materialistic, and do not let your speech be filled with hurtful words that move you away from happiness. Sanctify the world without belonging to this world.

God bless you in the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Always remember that Heaven is our goal!
