Holy Gospel according to Saint John 6, 44-51
Jesus said to the crowds:
“No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draw him,
and I will raise him on the last day.
It is written in the prophets:
They shall all be taught by God.
Everyone who listens to my Father and learns from him comes to me.
Not that anyone has seen the Father
except the one who is from God;
he has seen the Father.
Amen, amen, I say to you,
whoever believes has eternal life.
I am the bread of life.
Your ancestors ate the manna in the desert, but they died;
this is the bread that comes down from heaven
so that one may eat it and not die.
I am the living bread that came down from heaven;
whoever eats this bread will live forever;
and the bread that I will give
is my Flesh for the life of the world.”
Life in the Living Bread
1) Come to Jesus. The goal and the horizon of your life is Jesus. Do not stop walking towards Him, do not be afraid to meet Jesus. Today Jesus proposes that you go towards Him. Truly strive to come together with Him, and not simply comply with a rule.
2) Believing, having life. A believer has life and gives life. That is why a Christian who receives Jesus must share Jesus. Every time you receive Him at mass you should take Him to others. You receive Him in order to give Him. This is a beautiful opportunity we have in every Eucharist.
3) The Living Bread. The Eucharist is the center of our life. Jesus shows us and reminds us of the importance of the Eucharist in our lives. The key is to deepen our faith and continue to understand the importance of the Eucharist in our lives. That is why the Eucharist is the source of life for us.
God bless you in the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Remember that Heaven is our goal!
