Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Luke 7, 18b-23
At that time,
John summoned two of his disciples and sent them to the Lord to ask,
“Are you the one who is to come, or should we look for another?”
When the men came to the Lord, they said,
“John the Baptist has sent us to you to ask,
‘Are you the one who is to come, or should we look for another?’”
At that time Jesus cured many of their diseases, sufferings, and evil spirits;
he also granted sight to many who were blind.
And Jesus said to them in reply,
“Go and tell John what you have seen and heard:
the blind regain their sight,
the lame walk,
lepers are cleansed,
the deaf hear, the dead are raised,
the poor have the good news proclaimed to them.
And blessed is the one who takes no offense at me.”
God shows Himself to us in life
1. Miracles. Tony Melendez has a very interesting story. He is a great singer and a guitar player, but with one peculiar characteristic: he does not have arms. He plays the guitar with his toes. Something he said in an interview touched me deeply. He said, ”When someone tells me they don’t believe in miracles, I look at them, and seeing their arms I say, ‘those are a miracle!”
2. Life is full of miracles. It’s clear that you don’t know what you’ve got until you lose it. Remember, many people consider you a miracle just the way you are. Your life is full of miracles: your children, your health, your family, even your arms! All this is miraculous.
3. Simple and Ordinary. Look for God in simple, everyday things. Look for the Lamb of God that takes away the sin of the world, and you will find Jesus. God is not found in extraordinary things. Rather, He appears in the simple ones in order to make your life extraordinary! Continue to look for Him every day.
God bless you in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
Remember, Heaven is our goal.
