Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Mark 4, 26-34
Jesus said to the crowds:
“This is how it is with the Kingdom of God;
it is as if a man were to scatter seed on the land
and would sleep and rise night and day
and the seed would sprout and grow,
he knows not how.
Of its own accord the land yields fruit,
first the blade, then the ear, then the full grain in the ear.
And when the grain is ripe, he wields the sickle at once,
for the harvest has come.”
He said,
“To what shall we compare the Kingdom of God,
or what parable can we use for it?
It is like a mustard seed that, when it is sown in the ground,
is the smallest of all the seeds on the earth.
But once it is sown, it springs up and becomes the largest of plants
and puts forth large branches,
so that the birds of the sky can dwell in its shade.”
With many such parables
he spoke the word to them as they were able to understand it.
Without parables he did not speak to them,
but to his own disciples he explained everything in private.
Everything goes through a process
1) The seed in the soil. We have all come into this life for a reason. Even if you don’t believe it, your daily attitudes bring about consequences in the future, but many times you don’t realize that is so. You must be aware that you sow something every day in life; the point is what? Your words and attitudes may hurt or heal, your attitudes may build or destroy. But keep in mind that every day you bring about something. You’ll have to discover what.
2) The land yields fruit. In this life everything goes through a process. You have to learn to wait and to remember that things come into being in due time. Try to control your anxiety. You should also become aware of the processes taking place in your life. I understand that there are times when you want everything right away, but it’s not always possible. Respect the processes because if you get ahead of yourself you can end up ‘setting things on fire’, so to say.
3) The mustard seed. Everything starts small in life. You cannot start working as a manager. Things always start from the bottom; then, day after day and one step at a time, you develop and evolve. Things don’t happen from one day to another and they don’t always have to be grandiose. Everything begins at the bottom and moves forward with tiny steps. That’s the way you’ll see big things in your life. Remember that something good is on the way!
God bless you in the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
