Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint John 6, 35-40
Jesus said to the crowds,
“I am the bread of life;
whoever comes to me will never hunger,
and whoever believes in me will never thirst.
But I told you that although you have seen me,
you do not believe.
Everything that the Father gives me will come to me,
and I will not reject anyone who comes to me,
because I came down from heaven not to do my own will
but the will of the one who sent me.
And this is the will of the one who sent me,
that I should not lose anything of what he gave me,
but that I should raise it on the last day.
For this is the will of my Father,
that everyone who sees the Son and believes in him
may have eternal life,
and I shall raise him on the last day.”
The Bread of Life
1) The bread that satiates. Jesus nourishes and strengthens us. The Eucharist is the vitamin for the soul and encourages us to continue striving to live life in Jesus’s light. Today Jesus reminds you that He has come to give you life so that you will not die. Smile! Don’t be sad, walking around as is you were a living dead. You have to live and live abundantly because your path is to eternity.
2) His property. God takes care of you because you are his property; He accepts your freedom, but He constantly reminds you that you are His, not as a purchased item, but as someone who is deeply loved. His love for you is so great that He makes Himself yours so that you may be His. He is yours and you are His. That is why He invites you to live eternal life.
3) Eternity. God constantly reminds you that this life is not everything. God strengthens and encourages you to live eternally, and at the same time, He invites you to continue to strive for eternity. God looks at you with love, so look ahead to live eternally with Him. Rejoice, there is eternity! Rejoice, there is a path to follow!
Remember something good is on the way!
God bless you and be with you in the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
