Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Jhon 14, 1-12
Jesus said to his disciples:
“Do not let your hearts be troubled.
You have faith in God; have faith also in me.
In my Father’s house there are many dwelling places.
If there were not,
would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you?
And if I go and prepare a place for you,
I will come back again and take you to myself,
so that where I am you also may be.
Where I am going you know the way.”
Thomas said to him,
“Master, we do not know where you are going;
how can we know the way?”
Jesus said to him, I am the way and the truth and the life.
No one comes to the Father except through me.
If you know me, then you will also know my Father.
From now on you do know him and have seen him.”
Philip said to him,
“Master, show us the Father, and that will be enough for us.”
Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you for so long a time
and you still do not know me, Philip?
Whoever has seen me has seen the Father.
How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?
Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me?
The words that I speak to you I do not speak on my own.
The Father who dwells in me is doing his works.
Believe me that I am in the Father and the Father is in me,
or else, believe because of the works themselves.
Amen, amen, I say to you,
whoever believes in me will do the works that I do,
and will do greater ones than these,
because I am going to the Father.”
Believe
1) Don’t be troubled. Don’t let anyone hinder the dream of happiness in your life. I cannot repeat often enough that happiness is not a feeling, but an attitude. You have a lot to give, even if you feel unworthy or unsure of yourself, because you can transform reality. Today I suggest that you to take the first step to focus your attitude towards life: believe in yourself and believe in God. Feel confident today. Trust yourself more. Don’t depend on what others think or believe about you. Value yourself and go out to help others and build your happiness.
2) I am the way. Jesus shows us the way, He is the way, the path we must follow. Don’t forget the three essential axes: prayer, sacraments, and helping others. This is part of your path, of coming together with others. You can use these three pillars to examine your conscience. Ask yourself: Did I talk to God today? Did I tell Him how I feel? Do I go to mass and participate with devotion? Did I help someone today?
3) My Father. Jesus reminds us of eternal life and helps us to reach it because, as St John Bosco, known as Don Bosco, would say, we will all be gathered together with God in heaven, “there will be a great feast in heaven.” How wonderful it is to know that in the end everything will be beautiful! You are part of this party! You are God’s contribution to this world, so live! There is a place for you in Heaven.
Remember that something good is on the way!
God bless you and be with you in the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
