Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint John 15, 26-16, 4a
Jesus said to his disciples:
“When the Advocate comes whom I will send you from the Father,
the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father,
he will testify to me.
And you also testify,
because you have been with me from the beginning.
“I have told you this so that you may not fall away.
They will expel you from the synagogues;
in fact, the hour is coming when everyone who kills you
will think he is offering worship to God.
They will do this because they have not known either the Father or me.
I have told you this so that when their hour comes
you may remember that I told you.”
The truth
1) The Spirit. It is the strength of the Holy Spirit that moves you and motivates you. What differentiates this from a psychological therapy it is that these words have the power of the Holy Spirit. When you open your soul to God, it fills with the Holy Spirit that leads you to be a more creative, dynamic, and authentic person.
CREATIVE because it leads you to enjoy what you do and allows you to give your own personal touch to your life, your work, even to your family. Let yourself be taken by the Holy Spirit in prayer so that you can be creative in life and not bored of it.
DYNAMIC. It’s clear that when you enjoy life and you have a sense of what you live for, no day is the same as the previous one since your outlook is different every day. That is why a good point to discern whether you have found meaning in your life is to see if you are not falling into a suffocating routine. Routine and structuralism destroy your life because you fall into monotony. Is your life dull these days?
AUTHENTIC. This means that you lead a life of prayer and talk to God in a simple and close way. Prayer leads you to feel free and provides you with that freshness of living in the presence of God that guides you to be more fully yourself. This authenticity makes you invincible since you will not care what others say or think about you. The presence of God is radical because it fills your soul and makes you lead a more plentiful life.
2) Don’t be shocked. A thinker of the last century said that Christians of the 21st century should be mystics. I agree with him. Today´s Christians are called upon to be mystics rather than Catholics of folkloric tradition or family tradition. Our faith comes from an intimate encounter with God, a relationship so intimate and great that it makes us able to face the greatest temptations. As another great thinker said, “In the XXI century there may not be full churches, but there will be people filled with the Spirit”.
3) To know God. Knowing God is a personal and unique experience. That means that the experience is not the same for everyone, because it comes from a face-to-face relationship with God, which leads you to accept a way of living and taking responsibility for your actions. Let´s pray to God so He may help us to nurture our soul and discover Him
Remember that something good is on the way!
God bless you and be with you in the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
