Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint John 15, 18-21

Jesus said to his disciples:
“If the world hates you, realize that it hated me first.
If you belonged to the world, the world would love its own;
but because you do not belong to the world,
and I have chosen you out of the world,
the world hates you.
Remember the word I spoke to you,
‘No slave is greater than his master.’
If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you.
If they kept my word, they will also keep yours.
And they will do all these things to you on account of my name,
because they do not know the one who sent me.”

God has chosen you

1) The world. When Jesus uses this term He refers to what is external, to what makes noise in your life and seeks to set a trend. The world can turn you into a ‘worldly’, ‘mundane’ person whose life only revolves around material things and is far from God’s path. Today, God reminds you that your aim should be to please Him, and not the world; that you must sanctify the world without being of this world.

2) God has chosen you. How good it is to remember that you have received a calling, that God has chosen you to be His and to live in Him! So, don’t forget that you are one of God’s chosen ones.

3) Persecution. Nowadays there are new types of persecution which you must face with meekness and endurance, knowing that God will always be with you and that He will never leave you.

Remember that something good is on the way!

God bless you and be with you in the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
