Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint John 16, 29-33
The disciples said to Jesus,
“Now you are talking plainly, and not in any figure of speech.
Now we realize that you know everything
and that you do not need to have anyone question you.
Because of this we believe that you came from God.”
Jesus answered them, “Do you believe now?
Behold, the hour is coming and has arrived
when each of you will be scattered to his own home
and you will leave me alone.
But I am not alone, because the Father is with me.
I have told you this so that you might have peace in me.
In the world you will have trouble,
but take courage, I have conquered the world.”
I have conquered the world
1) The hour. In Jesus we see someone who faces his reality and difficult moments, his moment of transition and change. Today you must be willing to embrace your moment of change and your reality, what you have to face in life. You have to learn how to live your life and not simply endure it. Jesus takes charge of His life and doesn’t victimize himself; He doesn’t blame others. And He reminds you that you should follow His steps.
2) You will leave me alone. You know that you will have to live this situation in your life as well. Many will leave you and you will have to be strong because life has these things and many times you’ll have to face things on your own. Therefore, trust in God and trust in you, too.
3) Do not be afraid. Don’t give up. Jesus reminds you that, in spite of everything, He is with you, encouraging you to move forward. He reminds you that the end of this ‘movie’ is not the cross but the resurrection. Live and dare to help others to live! You are one of those who can achieve much, but you need to believe to succeed. Never forget that something good is on the way!
May God bless you and be with you in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
